painterly portrait

This is a practice run I did after watching a tutorial online using an old doodle. I'm happy with the results, but I feel I can get to this point without the technicalities... I just have to practice more I suppose.

Boxer

This is a sketch I did taken from a magazine coming back form x-mas from El Paso into Chicago. I want to do more work like this using just a pen. It makes you think more about the lines you put down on paper. This commitment also pushes you to accept what comes out of you without the ability of trying to redo and be precise... which makes the drawing breathe more

Joseph Kendall

This portrait was done for a friend in New York who came off very unique after seeing him reaching out and helping Monica with her broken laptop with no expectations of a reward. I don't do this very often, but his unselfishness to help inspired me.

Apples & Oranges cover

Here is the cover for the short comic story Monica and myself have worked on for the past 100 years (feels like it sometimes). The pencils are done and we did ashcans for the new york big apple con, which were all in black and white, a test run if you may. We will be publishing some copies in full color pretty soon!... that is once I start coloring.

Shaun take two!

I did this version of Shaun in Corel's sketchpad, which in my opinion is freaking awesome! It has some bugs here and there, but overall I really how it feels on the wacom. Hopefully I will get a better understanding of the programs and get it to do exactly what I want.

Shaunnnnn

An itch I've been wanting to scratch for a while.
